October Fun With Pumpkins

There are so many fun activities you can do with pumpkins. This year in our October meeting, we had each grade level write all the things they are thankful for on their grade level pumpkin. For our November meeting, we took these pumpkins, cut into them (or cut them apart to fit in the container) added soil to the container, added a little water and inserted our pumpkin. We plan to use this as our decomposing lesson in 3rd grade and it will be available to all grade levels to visit and check the process in our garden. For this we used a large animal cracker container. We also used a smaller clear box with a lid for another grade level. We just added tape to the top to make sure they are air tight,.
