Junior Master Gardeners

Service Project - Herbs

Service Projects

In Garden Club, we are working hard this year to earn Junior Master Gardener certifications. One of the items we need to complete is a service project. We have decided to raise $$ for Kids in Kenya to purchase produce. We will be collecting herbs in our garden and selling them in.

A “Self Serve” herb market. We have a donation bucket in our office.

We will donate the money we raise to an organization called Give Amore. This organization is near and dear to our hearts. Give Amore (meaning Give Love) is a non-profit organization run by Christa Horst, a close friend of Mrs. Grant’s, that lives in Dripping Springs, Texas. This organization helps villages in Kenya by sending orphans to school, provides shoes, clothes and school supplies to these children and they also drill wells so they can have clean drinking water. Garden Club is collecting donations to go toward produce for the children to eat in the villages in Kenya.

Side note… 2nd grade is also collecting “Coins for Kenya” to provide school supplies/books to those in need.

This is the organization that many of our teachers have supported by purchasing bags made in Kenya!
